The Mile-Long Bridge Project in Illinois began in the summer of 2019. Spanning over two major railroads, three water sources, local roads, and a main distribution center for UPS and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, this bridge will improve traffic flow and reduce disruptive maintenance upon completion. County Prestess & Precast's Prestressed Bridge Girders were specified for their high-performance strength and reliability, as more than 150,000 vehicles travel the major corridor each day. The unmatched efficiency of prestress girders aided in the bridge’s successful installation over one of the country’s largest railyards.
County Prestress & Precast manufactured and delivered 523 bridge girders for this two-phase project, maintaining the construction schedule and project completion expected in 2023.
