Solution: Dimensionally compatible concrete products from County Materials transformed this sloped backyard into a cohesive, multi-level outdoor living environment. Seamless elevation changes, defined circulation paths, and clean transitions create a unified, low-maintenance space built for daily use and entertaining.
Elevated Living, Seamlessly Connected
This backyard in Prior Lake, Minnesota, showcases how a multi-level hardscape design can unify multiple elevations into a cohesive, highly functional outdoor living space. From the elevated deck to the pool level and lower fire feature patio, each area is clearly defined and built for durability, function, and visual continuity.
The pool deck is surfaced with Grand DISCOVER PAVERS®, providing a large-format layout that reduces joint lines and creates a clean, open appearance across the expansive patio. This format streamlines installation while delivering a durable, stable surface suited for poolside traffic and furniture. The pool patio is framed with ELEMENTS™ PAVERS, allowing for tighter edge control along curves and clean transitions into adjacent landscape beds.
The lower patio and the covered space beneath the deck are constructed with DISCOVER PAVERS®, creating a sleek, consistent surface for seating, dining, and outdoor gatherings. Using the same system across this larger footprint enhances design continuity, supports heavy use, and reduces maintenance over time.
ELEMENTS PAVERS are integrated as a border around the main lower patio, providing a clean separation between spaces without interrupting the overall layout. At the fire feature area, DISCOVER PAVERS form the primary surface, while an ELEMENTS PAVERS border adds definition and visual structure, helping establish the fire pit patio as a dedicated gathering zone.
PASSAGEWAYS® STEP UNITS define the transition between levels with clean lines and consistent geometry, creating a visual connection from the upper deck to the pool and lower patio. Their uniform sizing improves installation efficiency while delivering stable, comfortable footing and a cohesive, terraced aesthetic that complements the surrounding hardscape.
Together, these dimensionally compatible units give contractors greater flexibility in layout, improve edge restraint and transition control, and create a cohesive outdoor living environment built for long-term performance.
