County Materials Produces Round & Elliptical Pipe at Impressive Pace to Speed Up Construction

When Stillwater Road began to look more like an oversized patchwork project than a safe, functioning roadway, Washington County officials realized it was time for an update. Community input inspired the project’s key considerations: ADA and pedestrian routes, enhanced parking, improved public and private utilities, and roadways to accommodate increased traffic demands. While the road was torn up, allowing access to the underground pipes, the county wanted to upsize its underground utilities and make drainage improvements. Project contractors were hesitant to specify a local supplier’s arch system that was manufactured with a wet-cast process, so they turned to County Materials to manufacture dry-cast pipes, allowing for significant time savings without sacrificing durability and performance.
