Insulated Wall Panels Enhance the Exterior Design of a Distribution Center

Located in the heart of Chicago, Illinois, Project Heat is the area’s first multi-level industrial warehouse and newest addition to the North Branch Industrial Corridor. This expansive distribution center is expected to generate 600 to 800 full-time jobs to support the local workforce. Featuring elevated levels designed to accommodate semi-trucks, the warehouse maximizes space efficiency, making it an ideal solution for the city’s growing logistical needs.

County Prestress & Precast’s Insulated Wall Panels were incorporated as a unique architectural feature. The energy-efficient precast wall panels were manufactured with an architectural finish that mimics the look of thin brick masonry to create a bold, industrial-style building that stands out in the busy city. Despite challenges posed by heavy traffic, narrow streets, and a busy worksite, County Prestress & Precast's experienced team provided efficient delivery and installation of the wall panels to keep the project on schedule.

When used as cladding panels, insulated wall panels offer long-lasting visual appeal and durability. Resistant to weathering and wear, they are well-suited for harsh Chicago winters. Project Highlights: 

County Prestress & Precast supplied 390 panels for the warehouse and 135 panels for the parking deck, coordinating with the contractor to navigate the challenges of delivering a large volume through the busy streets of downtown Chicago. Despite the challenges of heavy traffic and narrow streets, the efficient installation of the wall panels ensured the project remained on schedule.
