Contemporary Entrance

Solution: Concrete landscape products turn sloping front yard into stunning entrance.

This gorgeous lakehouse in a rural Missouri community sits on a lot that slopes toward the water. To improve the safety and appearance of their front entrance, the homeowners chose concrete landscape products manufactured by County Materials. A combination of concrete pavers and wall units in a unified color scheme that matches the home’s contemporary style brought the homeowners’ vision to life.

The transformed front entrance and walkway now features a grand staircase connecting the driveway to the front door and providing a shorter walk to the street. The staircase also includes low walls that add to its visual impact and provide a barrier between the surrounding landscaping. Smooth UNITY^TM LANDSCAPE UNITS in Allure were used for the risers and side walls of the staircase, and Double Sided Smooth Rectangle Caps in Majestic were used for the step treads. The landings and walkways incorporate Grand XL DISCOVER PAVERS^® in Majestic with a border made from 4x8 ELEMENTS^TM PAVERS in Vision and Reflection.

To further improve the accessibility of the front entrance, the project also incorporated a level walkway from the base of the driveway, bordered by a seat wall. The seat wall was finished with the same wall caps used for the staircase risers, with decorative columns added to provide more contrast.
